Detecting Culprit Species in Meat Product

Siti Aimi Sarah Zainil Abidin was the one of students in PutraMalasyia University who had presentation in Australia. She presented about how to detect meat and meat product using proteomics approach. In her presentation she talked to the audiences how could them can make sure that meat which they just eat is one hundred percent chicken. So much people in the world especially in abroad feel difficult to have permitted food. Sometimes there are culprits of food who manipulates the meat with meat product even the pork. Siti Aimi told how to deal with this problem.

The presentation focused on detecting alien species at all treating meat based products using protein detection methods. In other words, she was a meat detective. She designed a protein biomarker which will act like a magnet to extract protein or an alien species from a complex mixture of meat. Then, when they have of a mass spectrometry machine she can tells what that culprit meat is. It looks exactly like a thumbprint machine where you can recognize different pattern and unique sequences of protein from different animals and could be detected easily. This is a good news for Muslims, Hindus, Jews and people who allergic to particular meat. Biomarker especially designed to assist government bodies and food control laps in solving meat and outraging cases.
In the end of presentation Siti Aimi stated if we find any suspicious meat balls, nugget or meat samples just extract the protein put it in the machine and the result will pop up on the screen and case closed.
